RAJASTHAN ROYALS TIPPED FOR "TEAM OF THE YEAR" AWARD

A film which bags Oscar award is considered to be recognized worldwide. Likewise, it is prestigious to win Laureus World Sports Awards by a sport team. "Team of the Year" Awards are being given by the Academy to the best performing team from different sports. A list of six nominations will be finalized by sport journalists from 120 countries and the winners from among the six will be judged by a 45 member committee of the Laureus World Sports Academy which consists of stalwarts from different sport disciplines like Kapil Dev, Sir Viv Richards, Ian Botham, Steve Waugh, Franz Beckenbauer etc.

IPL champions of the first edition viz., Rajasthan Royals, headed by Shane Warne is considered to be the frontrunner for the award. The team, which was initially thought to be underdogs, went on to win all the IPL matches except one and emerged victorious in the finals. Even getting nominated for the awards alongside well known clubs like Manchester United which exists over hundred years, will be a great recognition for Rajsthan Royals. If Royals bag the award, it will be one more feather in the cap for India after our good show in this year's Oscar awards. Further, IPL, promoted by BCCI will reach greater heights and enhance its global audience.

We wish Best of Luck to Rajasthan Royals to make it.
